Bztransmit process mac5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() bztransmit is chewing through a 14TB volume, calculating sha hashes on 3 million files. it appears to be a single-threaded application as it never exceeds 100 cpu usage, despite the Mac having 12 cores. These three commands can be used to stop Backblaze: sudo launchctl. I'm talking about the bztransmit process, which has no user-configurable options. ![]() The index needs to be rebuilt from scratch without the excessibe file count, that also means you can't restart and "inherit" a previous backup. bzpkg/bztransmit and if you run it without any arguments to see all of its options. There is no way to alter this behavior once it's begun, aside from starting over with some files excluded. You can also check most distributed file variants with name is executable file. This issue is fixed in macOS Big Sur 11.2, Security Update 2021-001. If you want to see general information about the bztransmit.exe then visit General Information Page. Processing a maliciously crafted URL may lead to arbitrary javascript code execution. In doing so it was purging massive ammounts of memory causing behavior like Chrome (usign 10GB of memory on it's own) to hang/beachball for 30 seconds and then refresh all it's windows. Our database contains 21 different files for filename bztransmit.exe but this page contains information about single file with specific attributes. This means that anytime bztransmit runs, it will load this 6GB file into RAM while it is backing up. On most systems, this files is under 100MB in size (paraphrased from Backblaze support rep Zack). This file is a list of all files Backblaze has previously uploaded, including a unique identifier for each file. You also have to restart the Backblaze processes, so the changes are picked up. ![]() Backblaze's bztransmit process loads a file called bzfileids.dat into RAM.
